Junior and Senior Infants have had lots of fun revising their Maths skills recently, working as groups in Maths stations. They revised making patterns, counting, addition, weight, shapes etc.
Well done to our Parents Association for organising a sponsored walk at Powerstown Park recently. Thanks to everyone who generously supported the fundraiser and well done to all the participants who took part on the day, there was a great turnout.
The Easter Bunny came to Lisronagh NS and hid some eggs for our excited junior classes to find. They had to follow a series of clues, each clue had a special letter on the back and at the end they had to make a word with all the letters they found. Can you guess what the word was?
We would also like to thank everyone for their help and support with the Easter raffle, which was a huge success and enjoyed by all. ![]()

The Infant classes have been learning about Spring. The children were delighted to go on a nature trail to spot some signs of Spring in our environment. The children have also been learning about birds we see in Ireland. We went to look for some of these birds around school, they like to call this 'Operation Bird Watch'. The children had a checklist with the names and pictures of these birds and they also recorded where they saw the birds. They really enjoyed this and many said they are going to continue 'Operation Bird Watch' at home! Mr.Griffin was also kind enough to bring some ewes and lambs to school for the students to see. This caused great excitement!!! We are very grateful to Mr.Griffin for visiting us.
Junior and Senior Infants were learning about clothes in Aistear recently. They experimented with fabric and fibre to create an outfit for their individual puppets. They worked together on making a large version of St.Brigid's Cloak. In the Role Play area the children had lots of fun in 'The Clothes Shop' taking turns as the customer, manager, shop assistant etc. The also played Éadaí Biongó.
The Infant classes had lots of fun learning about the Arctic this month. They learned about the Inuit people and how to make an Inukshuk. They learned about various Arctic animals in small world play and bingo. They also had lots of fun painting the Northern Lights and making polar bears with cotton wool. They enjoyed reading the big book 'Snow Bear'.
Boys from 4th-6th Classes took part in an FAI 5 a side blitz in Cahir Park FC ON THE 27th of February. All four teams enjoyed the fun and showed great skills throughout the day! Well done boys!
