As part of the Incredible Edibles initiative the children have been busy planting different types of plants e.g. spinach, carrots, strawberries etc. Check out the photos of Junior Infants up to 2nd class getting their fingers dirty! GAA training resumed in late February this year. The children have been developing their skills in preparation for the Cumann na mBunscol competitions. On April 1st we organised a Walk for Charlie Bird. As you all know the country got behind Climb with Charlie on Saturday, April 2nd. We had great fun! We listened to motivating songs too! Well done to our U13 camogie team who participated in a blitz in Cloneen today. For many of the girls it was their first day out wearing a school jersey. Hopefully there will be many more days to come. 😊
The Irish Cancer Society's Daffodil Day took place on Friday, March 25th this year. Lisronagh NS participated in the fundraising event for this very worthy cause by hosting a Lá Buí day. We all tried to wear something yellow on the day. Thank you to everyone who donated, we raised a total of €320 on the day 😊👏👏 The infant classroom were busy this week learning about space. We also integrated this learning into our Aistear time. Well done to our u13 hurling panel who took part in a Cumann na mBunscol blitz last week. The boys were up against strong sides from Cloneen and Drangan. An enjoyable day out for all involved.
Congratulations to our 6th class student who was the mascot at the senior hurling match where Tipperary beat Antrim recently.
The winners of our Tráth na gCeist quiz as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. Comhghairdeachas!
The children in Lisronagh NS held 'Amber Flag Day' on the 11th of March as a fundraising event for Pieta House and our sensory space at school. The children wore bright colourful clothes and enjoyed various different well-being activities on the day like yoga, mindful colouring, circle time activities and guided meditation . Thank you to everyone who donated. We raised €886!! :)
The infant room partnered up with a 'buddy' from 5th and 6th class for some shared reading! It's clear from the pictures and videos below that this was a very enjoyable experience for both the younger and older pupils! :)
